FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Financial Roundtable at the
2005 Mobile Imaging SummitSM
to Answer the Key Question
“Where’s the Money?”
SAN MATEO, Calif. —
September 28, 2005 —
At the upcoming Mobile Imaging Summit
executive conference (October 11 &12,
Monterey, CA) decision makers from the
imaging, telecommunications and computer
industries will explore ways to monetize
the explosive growth of the camera-phone
ecosystem. One of the most anticipated
sessions is the Financial Roundtable,
which brings together seasoned investors
to provide a perspective on where the
financial community is placing its bets
for long-term profitability.
“The Summit has become
known by industry insiders as not just
the premiere location to develop
business deals and alliances among
companies, but also the place where the
connections get made for investments and
acquisitions,” said Joe Byrd, VP, Future
Image and Conference Director. “The
discussions on the Financial Roundtable,
along with our New Technology Showcase,
have been a key catalyst to these
discussions and for helping to set the
direction for the future of the Mobile
Imaging industry.”
This year’s panel will be
moderated by Mark Kalow, Managing
Director of the Soquel Group and a
veteran imaging industry entrepreneur
and investor. Speakers include
Shanda Bahles, General Partner, El
Dorado Ventures; Scott Chou, General
Partner, Gabriel Ventures; Raj Kapoor,
Venture Partner, Mayfield; Ben Black,
Principal, Maveron and Rudy Burger, CEO
and Founder, US Development Partners.
"We have a high degree of
interest in investing in the mobile
imaging space," said Scott Chou. "We're
looking for disruptive image capture
technologies, display technologies such
as bi-stable color flat-panels that have
excellent color fidelity and can scale
past 4x6 inches, as well as memory
technology that can serve as both
execution memory and application
storage. In addition, we're always
looking out for the next software or
Internet application that leverages the
exceptional growth in digital imaging.
We know the Mobile Imaging Summit is a
great place to make these connections,
and we look forward to our participation
in this year's event."
Hosted by Future Image
Inc., the leading independent center of
expertise on the convergence of imaging,
information technology, and
telecommunications, and I3A
(International Imaging Industry
Association), the leading global
association for the imaging industry,
the Mobile Imaging Summit conferences
are limited attendance events that bring
together senior executives of the
imaging, information processing and
telecommunications industries to manage
the convergence trends that are
reshaping their industries, address
emerging revenue opportunities,
determine any standardization needs, and
plan future initiatives. The content,
venue and amenities are carefully
designed to maximize opportunities for
participants to identify areas of mutual
business advantage, and to make the
high-level connections that enable
market leadership and drive competitive
advantage while fostering global
industry growth. Sessions are conducted
in a highly interactive format, drawing
upon Future Image’s extensive research,
the I3A’s global imaging network, and a
stellar lineup of industry speakers to
highlight key issues and promote
discussion onstage and off.
In addition to the
Financial Roundtable, sessions will
include a
State of the Industry

Henning, Managing Editor of the Future
Image Mobile Imaging Report; a
Visionary Roundtable moderated by
Alexis Gerard, Founder and President of
Future Image; and a series of lively
discussions on topics including:

Bandwidth; Goodbye Camera - Will
camera-phones become the primary picture
taking device?; Video - Mainstream At
Last, or Still a Niche?; Storage and
Management: Gold Mine or Loss Leader?;
