FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Future Image AND I3A announce FIRST
EUROPEAN EDITION OF
MOBILE IMAGING EXECUTIVE SUMMIT

Mobile Imaging Executive Summit Europe Scheduled for June 17-18 in Amsterdam

SAN MATEO, Calif. ö March 15, 2004 -- Future Image, the leading independent center of expertise on the convergence of imaging, technology, and business, and I3A (International Imaging Industry Association), the leading global association for the imaging industry, announced today their first Mobile Imaging executive conference focused on the European market.  The "Mobile Imaging Summit Europe 2004 -- Profiting in the Camera-Phone Ecosystemä executive conference will be held June 17-18 at the exclusive Huis ter Duin hotel in Kijkduin, on the North Sea coast near Amsterdam, the Netherlands.  The Summit will focus on business opportunities created by the explosive growth of camera-phone sales in the areas of infrastructure, devices, media and content; and on strategies for success in European markets.

Senior executives (CEO, CTO, CMO, VPs and product line directors) from the imaging, information technology and telecommunications industries are invited to attend.  Sessions will be conducted in the interactive format that is the hallmark of the Future Image and I3A executive events, highlighting key issues and promoting discussion by industry-leading participants both onstage and off.  The content, venue and amenities are all carefully designed to maximize opportunities for participants to identify areas of mutual business advantage, and to make the high-level connections that enable market leadership and competitive advantage.  The day-and-a-half program will feature:

A Visionary Roundtable where some of the most influential leaders in the mobile imaging industry will discuss the future direction of Mobile Imaging in a high-energy, informal setting

Sessions focusing on specific opportunities: Devices (camera-phones, camera-enabled PDAs, etc); Infrastructure (networks and carriers); Enabling Technologies (semiconductors, lenses, displays, and operating software); Print Opportunities (both self-printing and service based); Content delivery, Non-Print solutions and more

A discussion on standards needed to grow the market, hosted by I3A President Lisa Walker

A Showcase for ãunder the radarä Mobile Imaging startups with promising technologies or services

The full conference information is available at www.mobileimagingsummit.com.

"The rapid proliferation of camera-phones is creating major new business opportunities across the world, in areas as diverse as enabling technologies, end-user services, and content,ä said Alexis Gerard, president, Future Image Inc.  ãThis new industry is absolutely global in nature, yet success in any given market will require an in-depth understanding of how given value propositions play with local infrastructures, and, because images and mobile personal communication devices are so integrated into the fabric of peopleâs lives, a keen understanding of national and regional cultures.ä

ãMobile Imaging is a convergence industry, where accessing market opportunities requires joint involvement by companies from the imaging, information technology, telecommunications and media sectors,ä said Lisa Walker, president of I3A.  ãAfter the success of our November 2003 event focused on the North American market, we are eager to bring our unique format to Amsterdam as a resource for executives and entrepreneurs from these distinct markets, to come together for a joint business analysis and to identify potential partners they will need in order to succeed in Europe.ä

"As a company with a long and rich history of offering advanced imaging solutions for the worldwide photo market, Agfa is pleased to be at the forefront of the camera-phone revolution by offering mobile imaging solutions focused on commercial values," said Dr. Joerk Hebenstreit, VP Consumer Imaging at Agfa, the eventâs founding sponsor.  "Driving the market actively is one of the major challenges of the photo industry.  Hence, the conference offers all of us the opportunity to share insights on business perspectives related to the new mobile imaging market."

Mobile Imaging Summit North America 2003, held in Monterey, Calif. on November 3-4, was sponsored by Forbes Magazine, Hewlett-Packard, Do Labs, Eastman Kodak, LightSurf, Nokia, SanDisk and Webshots.  The 2004 edition is again scheduled in Monterey on October 28-29.
