2004 MOBILE IMAGING SUMMITS

 SAN MATEO, CA öApril 19, 2004 - - Future Image, the leading independent center of expertise on the convergence of imaging, technology, and business, and the I3A (International Imaging Industry Association), the leading global association for the imaging industry, announced today the initial lineup of sponsors for their 2004 Mobile Imaging Executive Summits. The list of corporate and association/media sponsors evidences the enthusiastic endorsement the program is garnering from all four industries involved in the Mobile Imaging convergence (Imaging, Information Processing, Telecommunications and Content), and its unique status as the pre-eminent executive event focusing on the opportunities derived from that convergence.

This yearâs Mobile Imaging Executive Summits will be conducted in Noordwijk, near Amsterdam on June 17 and 18, and in Monterey (California) on October 28 and 29. The opening Visionary Roundtable at the Amsterdam Event will feature Ms. Gail Whipple, VP of Global Digital Media for IBMâs Global Services Division, Mr. Juha Putkiranta, Senior VP of the Imaging Business Unit in Nokiaâs Multimedia Business Group, and Ms. Lisa Walker, President of the I3A.

The program of the Amsterdam Summit will include sessions focusing on

- Devices: Camera-phones, camera-enabled PDAâs, other capture/display enabled mobile devices

- Infrastructure: Networks and carriers

- Enabling Technologies: Semiconductors (sensors, DSPs, Mobile microprocessors etc.), lenses, displays, operating software

- Print Opportunities: Self-printing and service based printing, bricks/mortar and online

- Non-print Opportunities: Device based and/or server based offerings delivering capabilities such as image sharing, archiving, enhancement; and MMS.

- Content: From sports clips to location-based information to movie trailers, and much, much more

- Integration of Mobile Imaging with Enterprise IT, including real-time visual data management, retrieval and security

In addition the Summit will include a Standards Forum to discuss strategies that will catalyze the growth of the mobile imaging ecosystem, and a Mobile Imaging Startups Showcase that will highlight innovations by promising ãunder the radarä startup companies.

Sessions will be conducted in the interactive format that is the hallmark of the Future Image and I3A executive events, highlighting key issues and promoting discussion by industry-leading participants both onstage and off.
