FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

First European Mobile Imaging Summit CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY

Gathered Key Industry Executives In Imaging, Information Processing And Telecom

SAN MATEO, Calif. ö August 12, 2004 -- Future Image, the leading independent center of expertise on the convergence of imaging, technology, and business, and I3A (International Imaging Industry Association), the leading global association for the imaging industry, announced today the successful outcome of their first Mobile Imaging executive conference focused on the European market.

The "Mobile Imaging Summit 2004 -- Profiting in the Camera-Phone Ecosystem - Europeä executive conference was held June 17-18 at the exclusive Huis ter Duin hotel in Noordwijk aan Zee, a seaside resort near Amsterdam, the Netherlands.  The Summit focused on business opportunities created by the explosive growth of camera-phone sales in the areas of infrastructure, devices, media and content; and on strategies for success in European markets.  The next Mobile Imaging Summit is scheduled for October 28 and 29 in Monterey (California) and will focus on business opportunities in the North American market.  For more information, visit www.mobileimagingsummit.com.

Future Image and I3A wish to thank the following corporations, media organizations and industry associations for their sponsorship of the Mobile Imaging Summits 2004 ö Europe and North America: Hewlett-Packard, Agfa, Nokia, Sprint, IBM, Silverwire, LightSurf, Digimarc, DO Labs, Bellamax, Alinari, Scalado, ucp morgen, SMI Group. photokina, Die Deutsche Medienakademie Kšln, Informa, and Telecom.Paper Motorola, Pixel Magic.

The Mobile Imaging Summit conferences have the unique distinction of drawing decision makers from the three industries whose convergence is shaping the global camera-phone phenomenon: imaging, telecommunications, and information processing.  Attendance at the Summits is by invitation, and limited to senior executives (CEO, CTO, CMO, VP, Director and GM).  The organizers build the invitation list to ensure attendees from each of the three key industries have the opportunity to meet and engage with their counterparts in the convergent industries.

Attendees at the Amsterdam Mobile Imaging Summit unanimously rated the event as ãvery goodä or ãexcellent.ä  Notable comments include:

ãThe Summit is a unique melting pot for the new Mobile Imaging industries,ä Holger May, Marketing Director, Agfa.

ãWe enjoyed the format, inviting the audience to contribute just as much as the panelists, and very good, well prepared moderators,ä Susanna Bill, Manager Imaging Applications, Sony-Ericsson.

ãHosting by Future Image was excellent,ä Hiroshi Onoda, General Manager, Pentax Europe.

ãInteractive discussion, environment for open dialogue and networking make for an excellent Summit,ä David Watkins, Director, Imaging, Nokia.

ãThe Summit venues are always conducive to informal and informative discussions with mobile imaging industry leaders,ä Pierre Barbeau, General Manager, Sprint PCS.

Alexis Gerard, President of Future Image and a leading authority in the field of mobile imaging, moderated the Visionary Roundtable and contributed to several of the panel discussions.  ãIt was exciting to see so many high-level industry players from different industries taking this opportunity to engage in frank discussion of sometimes delicate issues, and having a genuinely enjoyable experience at our Summit,ä he said.  ãWe have laid strong foundations in Europe for future events, and we are confident the whole industry will benefit from the dynamics and interaction created by the participants.ä

Lisa Walker, President of I3A, conducted a session discussing standard setting for the Mobile Imaging industry. ãIf the Mobile Imaging industry is to move rapidly forward, it will need standards that all of the players can agree on,ä she said. ãWe will continue to advance and influence the setting of mobile imaging standards at our Summit conferences. In fact, at our next Summit in Monterey, we will have a special 4-hour standards forum in advance of the main event for any attendee who wishes to participate.  I'm confident that innovative solutions to the most difficult challenges in mobile imaging will arise directly from the standards session and from Summit participation."

Mr. Gerardâs and Ms. Walker's next speaking appearances in Europe will take place during Photokina, the leading imaging event held in Kšln (Germany), where Gerard will moderate the CEO Panel on September 28 and Walker will present at the International Symposium on Photofinishing and Mini-lab Technology.
